In the 1960s, Laura Davis is raising her two daughters, 11-year-old Ellen and 16-year-old Judy, after separating from her husband, Frank, due to his alcohol-fueled temper. Attempting to reconcile, Frank gifts Laura an antique necklace he found in a 1938 evidence bag at the police station. Laura dismisses the gesture, but Ellen becomes intrigued by the necklace and decides to wear it. Soon after, Ellen begins interacting with an imaginary friend named Jonah, and unsettling events unfold within the household. As the family confronts these disturbances, they uncover the necklaces connection to a tormented spirit from the past, placing them in grave danger.
