Pearl (2022)

A young woman stuck on a rural farm during a pandemic in the early 1900s starts to crack under the weight of her isolation and her own frustration. She lives with her strict parents while her husband is off at war, but what she really wants is to be famous and escape her dead-end life. As reality keeps grinding her down, her daydreams grow darker. She tries to chase after a local opportunity to perform, thinking it might be her ticket out, but when things dont go her way, her need for control starts turning violent. The film slowly tracks her unraveling, showing how someone full of hope and ambition can get pushed into something much more disturbing. Its intimate, intense, and leans hard into her point of view as things start to spiral.
