Harbinger Down (2015)

A group of graduate students joins a crabbing crew aboard a vessel called the Harbinger to study climate change effects on marine life in the Bering Sea. When they haul in a chunk of ice with a strange object embedded inside, things take a turn. It turns out the ice contains the remains of a Soviet spacecraft ?and something else that 's very much not dead. As the crew starts falling victim to a shape-shifting organism that infects and mutates human hosts, tensions rise and paranoia kicks in. With communication cut off and no way to escape, the group scrambles to figure out who 's infected, how the thing spreads, and whether they can kill it before it takes over everyone. Most of the movie plays out in the cramped, icy corridors of the ship, where body horror and distrust fuel the suspense. Its a slow burn that leans hard on practical effects and atmosphere, pulling from classic sci-fi horror setups without trying to reinvent the formula.
