A young girl named Aurora is convinced theres a monster living under her bed thats eaten her parents. Her foster carers dont believe her warnings, and after more tragedy strikes, she resolves to take action. Aurora blackmails her reclusive neighbor - a hitman for hire - to slay the creature. He initially resists, thinking the real threat lies in the criminal forces trailing him, but guilt and Auroras resolve push him to accept. As they pursue the monster, theyre attacked from all sides by assassins and shadowy figures tied to the hit mans past. Aurora learns scary truths about both the creature and her own fears, and the hit man is forced to protect her and confront both literal and metaphorical monsters.
