Found Footage The Making of the Patterson Project follows a small documentary crew hired to produce behind-the-scenes material for a low-budget horror movie called The Patterson Project. The film starts off with typical talking-head interviews, production footage, and casual b-roll of the cast and crew prepping for the shoot in a remote wooded area. Things start to feel a little off as production problems mount and tempers flare, but its written off as stress. Then strange events start cropping up-disrupted gear, missing props, odd noises at night-and the crew starts to suspect something more is going on. What makes things worse is that their own cameras keep catching glimpses of things no one remembers filming. As the line between fiction and reality starts to blur, paranoia takes over. With no cell signal and no clear way out, the documentary crew finds themselves in the middle of something way beyond a troubled movie shoot. The final stretch shifts hard into chaos as the footage turns raw, unfiltered, and much darker than anything the original film ever intended. The entire story is told through what the crew recorded-interviews, handheld cams, and behind-the-scenes material-making it feel all too real as the project collapses from the inside.
